Upcoming Events

Worship Every Wednesday

Midweek worship continues on Living Wednesdays each and every week at MCC Richmond!

Come to the Celebration Hall at 6:30 P.M. for a little music, a little meditation and prayer, a short message by Pastor Robin or Aileen Koke (and others), stay for a few minutes afterward for tea and a cookie, and then be on your way—refreshed, renewed, uplifted.

Witness for Equality

People of Faith for Equality in Virginia (POFEV) invites all MCCers and friends to the annual Marriage Equality Witness at noon on Valentine’s Day at the John Marshall Courts Building in downtown Richmond.

This year, the event in Richmond will be only one of several around Virginia—several in NoVA, one planned for Roanoke, and maybe even one at Virginia Beach/Norfolk.

If you want to participate, or want to help organize the event, or both, please contact Pastor Robin, who serves as President of this statewide group. Call him at 804/519-3196 or email at RevRobinG@MCCRichmond.org.

Brunch with Pastor Robin

New to MCC Richmond in the last year? Want to know Pastor Robin better, and build stronger relationships with others?

Join Pastor Robin, Program Director Elaine German, and others for brunch (Dutch treat style) at Babe’s following worship on Sunday, February 5.

And, if you’ve been at MCCRVA for awhile, you are invited to join the group—help newcomers feel welcome by sharing brunch. Vicki Hester, owner of Babe’s and a good friend to MCC Richmond, makes sure we have our own space and the food is good (and reasonably priced), too!

A Special Invitation for Spiritual Health

Come, set aside a day—Saturday, February 25, 9:30 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. for spiritual  exploration that can help you change your life.

Watch and discuss an entertaining, intelligent, probing video from nationally-recognized pastor and writer Rob Bell, “Everything Is Spiritual.”

After that, you will be guided in discerning a spiritual desire (one or two is enough!) on which you’d like to focus. Then, we’ll share with each other, make a commitment to support one another as we begin this journey together, and make plans to gather again.

Lunch is included; a $5 donation is requested to cover costs, but don’t let that keep you away.

Questions?  RevRobinG@MCCRichmond.org or 519-3196.

Exciting News about Lent at MCC Richmond

Lent is coming, beginning with Ash Wednesday on February 22. And we’re doing a few new things in observance of this special and holy time.

We kick things off with an Ash Wednesday potluck dinner and worship service. Dinner begins at 6:00 pm, and worship at 7:00 P.M..

Each Wednesday after that until Easter (beginning February 29), Living  Wednesdays will feature special Lenten devotionals at 6:30 P.M., followed by Queering the Bible with Pastor Robin at 7:00 P.M. (ends at 8:00 P.M.).

Pastor Robin also will offer a sermon series focused on The Lord’s Prayer that begins March 4. And watch for an announcement about a special Saturday workshop Pastor Robin will offer, “Everything Is Spiritual,” in March.

New Member Class Coming March 4

You have a great opportunity to join Pastor Robin and others on Sunday, March 4, at 12:45 for lunch and New Members Class.

Elaine German, Program Director, and Joy Whitenack, Minister of Generosity, will join him in leading the class—sharing information about MCC Richmond and the global MCC movement, as well as answering your questions.

The class will end by 3:30 pm. Just let Pastor Robin at RevRobinG@MCCRichmond.org or the church office at MCCRVA@MCCRichmond.org know, or note on your Blue Connection Card that you want to attend.
