Who we are

At MCC Richmond, we celebrate the diversity of Christian traditions past, present and yet to be revealed. Our goal is to create an affirming environment where everyone feels welcome and all are empowered as ministers to serve.

MCC Richmond is a Christian church that began in 1978 to serve the spiritual needs of Virginia's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. Because we believe God made us and loves us as we are, we embrace all who want to hear the message of God's all encompassing love.

MCC Richmond is an affiliated church of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC), a worldwide fellowship of Christian congregations. Founded in 1968, UFMCC has been at the vanguard of civil and human rights movements by addressing important issues such as racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism, and other forms of oppression.

MCC Richmond is governed by an elected Board of Directors who oversee all financial and administrative aspects of the church.

We are located in the historic Fan District of Richmond, Virginia.
